Justice 21, Step 2

  1. Implement New York State Action Plan for the Justice Courts as enumerated by NYS Chief Judge Judith Kaye in 2006 & 2007
  2. Seek legislative intervention in DWI laws that no longer work for the public
  3. Expand the options for parties in Court as to substance abuse assessment, medical intervention, emergency housing, and community service as alternative sentencing
  4. Bring mediation to our court for code enforcement and civil lawsuits that would otherwise divide neighbors and our community
  5. Bring Law Day to Katonah Schools
  6. Continue to reorganize our court staff
  7. Continue to work with Bedford Police, and our court system in implementing security devices
  8. Continue work to cut costs using available resources & technology


Sometimes the best way to improve our courts isn’t with new laws, but
new ideas.
